The East Coast Amateur Radio Service (ECARS) is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing service through Amateur Radio.

Governance is via a Board of Directors.  The Executive Staff consists of Officers elected annually, and Board of Directors who serve for two (2) years between elections.  A President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer constitute the ECARS officers.  Appointed members serve as Net Manager, Webmaster, and Director of Public Relations.  Additional organizational information is available by selecting the ECARS website "ECARS Bylaws" menu option.

Net Operations occur daily on 7.255 MHz (LSB).  Weekday operations run from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm and weekend operations run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, East Coast time. During the summer months, weekend operations may be suspended. ECARS offers service to mobiles and fixed stations, including weather information, road conditions, emergencies, and signal reports. ECARS is a great place to meet other Amateur Radio operators, obtain East Coast weather information, establish schedules, or to simply listen and enjoy.  You do not have to be a member of ECARS to check into ECARS nets, all that is required is a General Class Amateur Radio license or better.  Additional operational information is available by selecting the ECARS website "Operations Manual," "NCS Schedule," and "NCS Operations / Tools" menu options.

ECARS Roll Call is held the second Saturday of the month on 7.255 MHz at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time, although it may be suspended during the summer months.  The Roll Call schedule schedule can be seen by selecting the ECARS website 'ECARS Roll Call' menu option.

ECARS Swap and Shop is held each Wednesday from 11 to 12 am.  The Swap and Shop list of equipment being sought, sold, or traded can be seen by selecting the ECARS website 'Swap & Shop' menu option.

ECARS membership is $3 per year with subscriptions available for 1 year, 3 years, or lifetime.  A lifetime membership is $30.  Membership applications are available by selecting the ECARS website "Application / Renewal' menu option.
