GENERAL INFORMATION ECARS is a acronym for East Coast Amateur Radio Service. The service meets
all day every day on 7.255 MHz., starting at approximately 7:30 AM East Coast time
(conditions permitting), subject to interference from foreign broadcast stations. ECARS offers service to mobiles, including weather information, road conditions,
emergencies, and telephone calls. ECARS is a great place to meet other Amateur Radio operators,
obtain East Coast weather information, establish schedules, or to simply listen and enjoy. Click here for a

You do not have to be a member of ECARS to check into ECARS nets, all that is required is
a General Class Amateur Radio license. However, membership is encouraged.
ECARS Roll Call is held the second Saturday of the month on 7.255 MHz at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time, although
it is occasionally moved to 11:00 a.m. when band conditions are poor.
ECARS Membership
ECARS annual dues are $3.00 USD. Life-time membership for $30.00
USD.
The ECARS web site provides
access to the ECARS newsletter The Monitor, the ECARS Membership Lookup Database and information
about ECARS merchandise. ECARS members who do not have Internet access may opt-in to receive a hard
copy of The Monitor via U.S. Mail by contacting ECARS at the address provided below.
